Sunday 12 February,2006, saw the first event of the FORUM's leaderboard kick off to a good start. 71 of the 197 FORUM members managed to register in time for what proved to be a good $100 freeroll.
2 players joined the FORUM shortly after the tournament finished. This means that there were a further 31 players, who had been given the tournament password by FORUM members. Shame on you. You know who you are. You allowed and coerced 31 poker players to steal the chips and some of my cash, intended for FORUM members. No one likes a dishonest poker player. Its a big IT world out there, and perhaps you dont realise how easy it is for me to cross reference IP addresses, player names and Email addresses if i have a mind to . I can ban an IP address from access - and if i do ban it, it will be for life ! You have now been warned. Join our FORUM ! Its free to do so.
I managed to watch the play on most tables throughout the Event, but this left me little time left to actually concentrate properly as to what the play and action was on my own table. I recall being timed out on several big pots where i held the nuts, but was happy to see that the chips went to other FORUM members.
At the FINAL table, louie and devious1 didn't get any cards to last long, but at least they had made it that far. Tootalltim had played a strong steady game, as had salmon. They were both sitting pretty, dominating play with the highest chip stacks until Hand 139.
Koocher went all in, pre-flop, with an average table stack with his JJ. He was immediately called by natsdad's small stack with 67 off, and by charterboss, also now all in with A9 off. xbrewcrewx, sitting patiently, now made his move with an overbet on his KK. 3 players left the table when xbrewcrewx emerged as the new chip leader having scooped over 34k of chips.
lbowman didnt seem to get any cards to improve his position and went out in 5th place.
The motormouth of pokerhandka, prattled on, and it was not clear whether the cards he continually annouced during play, were the cards he was holding or the cards he wished he was holding. I did realise that "eek" was indeed his favorite face, long before he announced that fact. At hand 155, he pushed his last 1700 chips all in and announced , "I'm out". He guessed right! Salmon called the bet and won with an Ace Flush. Bye Bye pokerhandka. Maybe you'll join our FORUM soon. When you see him at the tables, please remind him constantly that he stole $8 from you all.
Another 30 hands followed where salmon and tootalltim battled it out between themselves, with xbrewcrewx joining the action when his cards were right. salmon was on a roll and despatched tootalltim into the $10, 3rd place.
xbrewcrewx, who had not lost his chip leader position gained in Hand 139, was soon able to send salmon into 2nd position with $20.
The FORUM Congratulates xbrewcrewx and your $30 purse.
